06 January 2012
Marin Group operating company Marin Subsea has been named as a Company of the Year finalist in the Subsea UK 2012 awards.
Now in their sixth year, the awards celebrate innovation and excellence across the subsea sector, recognising exceptional achievement at all levels.
Marin Group CEO George Stroud said: "To be shortlisted for this award is a great honour and a tribute to the hard work and commitment of the Marin Subsea team.
"The company has gone from strength to strength over the past year as we have expanded our range of services and broadened our international client base."
Mass flow excavation and claycutting specialist Marin Subsea is the founding member of the Marin Group which through five complementary operating companies delivers a one-stop subsea service to the oil, gas and renewable sectors worldwide.
The company — based at Marin Group HQ in Ellon, Aberdeenshire, with further operations in Asia — was established in 2006 by MFE and claycutting pioneers Mr Stroud and his long-time business partner Nick Sills, now Group chief technical director.
Marin Subsea deploys the Marin Evo Excavation Systems range of proprietary full ocean depth subsea excavation tooling as part of a deepwater troubleshooting service that includes the world's only dedicated dropped asset and BOP recovery service.
Mr Stroud added: "The Marin Subsea team have recently been involved in some exceptionally complex and challenging projects, including assisting in the identification and clearance of suspected UXO offshore Iraq.
"We are now poised to target the decommissioning market with a powerful range of new subsea tools due for release in first quarter of this year." |
